The Sydney Pool Spa Life Expo has once again showcased the latest in pools, spas, and outdoor living, drawing in attendees eager to explore the best the industry has to offer. While overall visitor numbers were down compared to last year—a trend seen across the NSW market due to ongoing economic challenges—the quality of consumers in attendance was stronger than ever.
Again, exhibitors at this year’s expo noted a marked shift in attendee behaviour. Visitors arrived with a clear intention to buy, rather than simply browsing for future projects. The result was highly productive conversations and meaningful engagements, making it a standout event for businesses looking to connect with genuine customers.
What a magnificent Pool and Spa Show, we had so much interest in Swimming Pool and Spa Equipment, from SplashMe Pool automation to chlorination to pumps filters and heating. Many Thanks to SPASA lots of work ahead next weekend helping customers we met over the 2 days.

We’ve exhibited at the Sydney Pool & Spa Expo for over 15 years, and it keeps getting better. The advertising is outstanding, driving strong attendance and quality leads. This weekend’s sales have been solid, and the prospects are highly promising.

The quality of buyers this year is very good. We're seeing increased interest from people asking technical questions, and the overall quality of enquiries is better. Compared to previous years, the number of attendees seems lower, but from our company's perspective, the quality is significantly higher. We take the expo very seriously every year, as it's our key opportunity to build brand awareness and connect with the community. Now in our third year, it's great to see so many companies here, supporting the industry and consumers looking to invest in pools.

One of the key advantages of the expo is the ability to foster strong industry relationships. Kristin Cassidy from Sapphire Pool and Spa highlighted the value of the event beyond just consumer interactions:
As a proud SPASA member, I attended the Sydney Rosehill Pool Spa Life Expo. This event is the perfect opportunity to network with suppliers, tilers, and outdoor living companies, allowing us to build strong relationships from start to finish. While here, I even gained a new customer in our area.
Building these connections at events like this—or simply being part of the SPASA network—helps grow a community of industry professionals while expanding knowledge across all areas of the pool and spa industry.
This sentiment was shared by many exhibitors, reinforcing that while the expo serves as a platform for consumer engagement, it also plays a crucial role in strengthening industry networks and knowledge sharing.
The industry has faced significant headwinds due to rising costs of living and shifting consumer priorities. However, the strong turnout of serious buyers at the expo highlights the enduring demand for pools, spas, and outdoor lifestyle products. This reinforces the importance of events like Pool Spa Life Expo, which provide a direct connection between brands and consumers ready to invest.
It’s clear that the Pool Spa Life Expo continues to be an essential event in the calendar for both consumers and industry professionals alike,” said Lindsay McGrath. “Though the market faces challenges, the expo’s ability to attract qualified buyers highlights the ongoing strength of the industry. We are excited to continue supporting our members as they adapt and find new ways to connect with consumers.
While overall attendance was lower, digital engagement in the lead-up to the expo told a different story. Marketing metrics indicate a significant increase in online traffic and consumer intent resulting in a 42% increase in visitors to the website throughout the campaign period.
People clicking on the “Grab Your Ticket” button (showing real intent to attend): 21% increase in high-intent engagement.
These numbers indicate that while fewer people ultimately attended the event—perhaps influenced by ticket prices which deters casual visitors — those who did come were serious about making a purchase. This strategy ensures exhibitors connect with high-quality prospects, delivering stronger business outcomes.
Onto Pool Spa Life Adelaide, we hope to see many of our SPASA members there!
